My sight goes forth to look upon Christ’s face.

May I see the truth in others.

“Today I choose to see a world forgiven, in which everyone shows me the face of Christ and teaches me that what I look upon belongs to me; that nothing is, except Your holy Son.” [CE W-269.1:5]

I allowed myself to get triggered yesterday. For the rest of the day, there was conflict amongst my family members. As the day went by, I got quieter as their arguments got more attacking and defensive. I suspect that I brought defensive energy into the home which contributed to their battles. I know for certain I did not carry peace.

As I observe others’ conflict, I am able to feel compassion for both sides as I have experienced ‘tit-for-tat’ relationship dynamics.

When it is my thoughts that become critical of a loved one, my holy vision is not present. My emotions are directed by my ego self, fueled by thoughts of how I can change my loved one, or at least come off looking better than them.

I wish to see. May I receive a nudge, HS, to pause and question my defensive feelings. _/\_

“Today our sight is blessed indeed.”

As I look over my notes, I see I have prayed for this sight for, at least, the past three years. For a moment I felt down but, within, I was reminded that my sight has changed. It is evolving. My willingness to Love is a key part. Also, my lessons in seminary on implicit bias as well as the study of many religions and cultures. All this had broadened my vision, along with connecting my heart, to what I see.

Perhaps it is time to stop wishing to see and instead acknowledge, ‘Yes, I look upon Christ’s face in everyone I see.”

“I ask Your blessing on my sight today.”

I am ready, Lord. Take away any last fears and beliefs that keep my eyes from touching my heart with the image of Your Creation.

I asked yesterday for help with seeing and here is my prayer given for me. I am blessed by this course work each day.

“I ask Your blessing on my sight today.”

Yes, I wish to look upon Christ’s face always. I wish to be present with the joy and light within all the life that exists within this world.
