ACIM Lesson 247 notes.

Without forgiveness I will be blind.

Forgiveness frees me.

“For forgiveness is the only means whereby Christ’s vision comes to me.” [CE W-247.1:3]

In study group this week, someone questioned line 2.1 of the introduction to these current lessons, Part II, section 3. What is the World. They felt uncomfortable with the phrase ‘attack on God’. I offered clarification that to me the word ‘attack’ was one of those Course words that emphasizes our worldly dualistic state. In the moment I said, ‘we attack or we forgive.’ I don’t know that the Course actually states this association but it makes sense to me. But why?

With forgiveness we open our minds to see things differently, outside of our own perception, accepting that our thoughts may not be true. When we attack, we believe our thoughts (which are based on our limited perception) and hold on firmly to them to justify our actions toward another person.

May I come to trust the Love in my brother more than what I think that I see. _/\_

“Brother, come and let me look on you. Your loveliness reflects my own. Your sinlessness is mine. You stand forgiven, and I stand with you.”

I am sorry that I did not see you before. I wish to remove the blocks to the flow of God’s Love.

Without forgiveness I would be retched. It is so important to my life.

“For forgiveness is the only means whereby Christ’s vision comes to me.”

I look at people sometimes hoping to see their inner light, or aura, or whatever this mystical image is that I have high expectations of seeing one day. What I think that Christ’s vision is.

I have over-complicated it!

Forgiveness … seeing things differently … brings me to the place of realizing the innocence in another person.

Sinlessness is what I see. I release my judgment, attack, and am once again returned to my own sinlessness.

“Brother, come and let me look on you. Your loveliness reflects my own. Your sinlessness is mine. You stand forgiven, and I stand with you.”

I am so Loved.
