I am not a body. I am free.
For I am still as God created me.

‘Because of Love I walk in gratitude.’
(For this review period, I am selecting one word or idea to reflect on for the day.)

This morning I have an ear-worm. It is Faith Hill’s song, ‘I love the way you love me.’ This is something to be grateful for, God’s Love.
It began with the line, “It’s not right, it’s not fair, what you’re missing over there.” Is God sending me Love notes? <3

195] Love is the way I walk in gratitude.
“The Holy Spirit is my only guide. He walks with me in love. And I give thanks to Him for showing me the way to go.”
My thoughts are on Richard Rohr’s daily emails. This week the series is on innocence, RR says from the Latin meaning ‘unwounded’.
Today, the conversation discussed the idea of Christianity as ‘the cult of the innocent’. We pretend we are innocent of all the events of the world we participate in. Richard referenced Luke 18:19 where Jesus is called good but redirects to say, ‘God alone is good’. It says that Jesus dismisses it, it’s a game he doesn’t want to play. The article goes on to speak of all the gifts, grace, mercy, unconditional Love, that we are meant to be about but convince ourselves, and others, that we don’t need the gifts – because we are not sinners! ‘The cult of the innocent!’
How does this relate to today’s lesson?
Love and presence are gifts of the Holy Spirit. We ignore that they are right here and act on our own, separate.
I want to remember to ask of HS, ‘can I share this gratitude with you?’ I’m not there with understanding the love + gratitude connection, so I will ask for help.
