ACIM Lesson 137 notes.

When I am healed, I am not healed alone.

“Just as forgiveness overlooks all sins that never were accomplished, healing but removes illusions that have not occurred.”

My initial question after reading today’s lesson was what was meant by healing? In Hollie’s notes she offered that in the lesson healing means “anytime we choose the reality of love over the illusion of separation. Anytime we choose to see past appearances to the essence of love beyond.”

To my understanding, we return our minds to accepting that we are surrounded by Love, flowing in the River of Love, and made of Love.

When I turn to this perception then what I said in paragraph 8 is true and obvious.

“Healing is freedom. For it demonstrates that dreams will not prevail against the truth. Healing is shared. And by this attribute it proves that laws unlike the ones which hold that sickness is inevitable are more potent than their sickly opposites. Healing is strength. For by its gentle hand is weakness overcome, and minds that were walled off within a body free to join with other minds, to be forever strong.”

And when I am lifted in healing, others are lifted as well. (I am thinking of my seminary story that I wrote of in my Lesson 132 notes.)

“Sickness is a retreat from others, and a shutting off of joining.”

If humanity is a body, then I am one cell in this body. I would then be part of a bigger part, like an organ; one in a system that is meant to work together to provide a critical function for the whole being. When I shut myself off from others, I fail at being part of the group function. (Perhaps I lose the sustenance of the group as well? Perhaps the group rejects me due to my malfunctioning?)

“God’s one Son (Child). Who is my only Self.”

Thank you for these lessons that call me back to join with my group, my function, and my place in God.

In one of my Facebook ACIM groups, a student posted about her blocks to yesterday’s lesson on sickness. It was an active thread–I admired that the student responded to each comment. As she responded, the evidence of her gaining insights was exciting to watch. She went in deep and pulled out thorns, her blocks, and posted about her new understanding. She did her inner work but, past her change of perspective, she continued to reply to all the comments of support eventually saying she needed rest to absorb all that had happened.

Rest now dear one. Good work today.

The words above came to me, through me, so I typed them into the thread.

I am recording this event here because I find it is evidence of today’s lesson. The student had a healing. I felt it and got into the flow. I was able to feel the Christ Love flow through me and out into the world. 😊
