ACIM Lesson 9 notes.

I see nothing as it is now.

“It is difficult for the untrained mind to believe that what it seems to picture is not there.”

“I do not see that face as it is now.”

I know the lesson is saying to not try to understand, but I see these lessons as reinforcement to changes going on within me.

I do not see the world as it is now. I do not know what is true in my piece of the world. Especially, I do not know the people I encounter.

My mind is so quick. For so long it has classified everything into known categories so my mind can make up stories to go with what I think I see.

The word ‘awe’ has come in some significant ways in the last couple of days. I’ve noticed this, so I reflected on ‘awe’ this morning. I had the thought, when people show me that they are totally different then who I made them up to be in my mind, this is an opportunity. Instead of beating myself up for being mistaken, I can choose to go into awe at the unexpected!

I can be in awe as they show me what is not of my creation. If it is not mine, then it must be God’s. Therefore, awe is appropriate and warranted. <3

“The recognition that you do not understand is a prerequisite for undoing your false ideas.”

I do enjoy seeking and finding. But I do not understand that I see nothing as it is now.

A part of me thinks I understand. The lesson says differently, so I choose to lean into the lesson more today and put my seeking aside … for now.

I do not see this, Tricia, as it is now.
