“If you will merely sit quietly by and let the Holy Spirit relate through you, you will empathize with strength.” (3.2)

‘Me too.’ This is a strong idea in our culture for the purpose of support and empowerment. But, Jesus is showing me that in this form of empathy people join together as victims, as they also make someone else the enemy.

Like so many of the Course’s lessons on ‘how to’, I am to step aside to allow HS guide my interaction. I don’t know what to offer that will bring clarity to the other person as I cannot see the whole picture. And I do not hold everyone’s best interests as HS does.
