T-4.IV The Ego’s Need to Confirm Itself.

In his commentary, Robert Perry described a list of personality types from those we find negative to those we strive to be. All of them were a means of protecting the ego according to this section. The personality types reminded me of the Enneagram types and how Fr. Richard, in his book, listed that each type related to a need to solve separation from God. This section says the same thing, basically.

The ego senses something missing, greater, of the spirit. It tries to fill the hole of lack. How is interprets the lack is what relates to the Enneagram type (Examples, if I remember correctly, Type 1: lack of perfection; type 4: lack of beauty; type 6: lace of safety.)

I am not sure if this is useful for my ACIM studies; perhaps these ideas will further develop.
