ACIM CE Text notes – Day 51

T-3.III Atonement Without Sacrifice.

2-20-2025

I found this section very beautiful. It touched on clearing many confusing points from scripture of my early Christian education. This lesson helps me to see that the people who imagined a wrathful God then felt guilt and pain to then justify harming others. As they already felt guilt and pain, it could be projected onto another continuing the cycle of guilt and pain. This is the soup one lives in when a world of lack, with a vengeful God, is accepted. In this world, Atonement is represented by the Crucifixion.

In the mindset where the Atonement is represented by the Resurrection, the true Self (this lesson uses the term ‘innocent’) affirms that wisdom and strength of loving-kindness secures us. Here, God is Love and we are all OK.
