ACIM Lesson 309 notes.

I will not fear to look within today.

“It is the holy altar to my Self, and there I find my true identity.”

With my retirement and my kids reaching adulthood, I have viewed the last four years as a time of losing my identity. The Course would call this the false identity. I like the idea that they were temporary identities I had for raising children and for my career.

When I get quiet and go within, I open to an opportunity to uncover my true Self, my true eternal identity.

I can describe my story of awakening as learning of reincarnation and coming to know it to be true. A couple of months before this event, I began to learn yoga. I believe that it was quiet time on the mat which initiated questions and then seeking.

Who was I looking for?

This identity, eternal innocence, that God’s Will placed within ‘that it be there forever and forever’. One’s true Self is hard to miss when you change your view from outside to inside.

“Within me is the holiness of God.”

This morning, I find I am very comfortable with looking within me to see ‘eternal innocence’.  The fear is diminished.

_/\_ Everyday, let it be this way.

“Herein lies the peace of God.” ~ACIM Introduction.

Right now, it feels good to look inside. My daily contemplation with Richard Rohr led to a meditation of putting hand on heart and bringing a loved one to the space between your palm and heart. Next, we were guided to bring someone we feel in conflict with. It was such a lovely practice that I felt brought healing, as well as took me to that inner place of eternal innocence.

Dear Lord, let me always remember this lovely place within me.

“Within me is the Holiness of God. Within me is the memory of Him.”

(Feeling weepy from that last line.)
