My part is essential to God’s plan for salvation.

“You are indeed essential to God’s plan. Without your joy, His you is incomplete. Without your smile, the world cannot be saved.”
As I read through the lesson, I thought of the human masters that I have seen in my lifetime: Nelson Mandela, Bishop Tutu, Sadhguru. They were always smiling and full of joy. And they have done their parts in big ways.
I am getting to know more smiling faces at seminary. (I think of the school’s directors and instructors.) The core values of the school are about social justice, so I hear so many big problems in the world being looked at and discussed. Still there are big smiles.
Joy is my function here.
“Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God.” Teilhard de Chardin.
Five minutes an hour to work on the lesson seems like too much effort to me. To smile and remember my inherent joy each hour seems a smart choice, as well as a blessing. It is to move me toward being a person who is always smiling and expressing joy.

The lesson title today put me off. Do I want the responsibility?
I realize that in my mind, I think of salvation as singular, separate, individualistic … I will be saved. I sense that this has its roots in old church ideas … Jesus as savior. As well as our need for individual work to be good and go to heaven or ‘go to hell’.
It’s not salvation for me, it is for me to do my part for salvation of the world. This is what I desire.
My part is to be happy in just doing my part.
This blessing came today in my email. (4-10-2023, Nick Polizzi, Native American prayer.)
Dear Great Spirit, You are inside of me, within my very breath, within each bird, each mighty mountain. Your sweet touch reaches everything and I am well protected. Thank you for this beautiful day before me. May joy, love, peace and compassion be part of my life and all those around me on this day. I am healing and I am healed.

Before I realized that it was Palm Sunday, I wanted today’s lesson to be uplifting. The title seemed burdensome. To my delight … God’s will for me is perfect happiness!
Joy is my function here!
I thought I was working/striving for Christ consciousness through the practices, lessons, forgiveness work.
Ahhhhh … I can do joy! And even do it hourly! LOL!
I’m excited to get going!
“Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God!” ~ Teillard de Chardin
In Hollie’s notes she said that this joy is underlying everything, being supportive when grief or other low feelings come along.
Joy is there for life, in my being, knowing who I am … child of God; as an eternal light being, and soul. I know this is key to removing my fears that my happiness is fragile and my fear of getting caught up in others’ problems.
Joy is foundational in me! I am Joy!
