I am the light of the world.

“That is my only function. That is why I am here.”
‘Do my part.’
(Wow! Having just read my 2023 post, I have been brought back to humility. I won’t add anything more.)

I have been anticipating this lesson for a few days, recalling my excitement last year at the surprise of such praise coming early in the year. My expectation was that this was the goal, for me to be offered it like a compliment of ‘good girl’ for a job well done. The lesson actually says something much different.
“I am the light of the world. That is my only function. That is why I am here.”
Accepting that I am the light of the world is foundational in me and to my acceptance of all the lessons to come. It is time to move from hoping to believing (then knowing) that I am the Holy Child of God, a light in this world.
“Humility consists of accepting your role in salvation and in taking no other. It is not humility to insist you cannot be the light of the world if that is the function God assigned to you.”
As I read this, I nodded and said to myself, ‘do my part’. This has been a calming phrase for me for the last few weeks. It’s more of my Ennea type 9, peacemaker, wanting to collaborate than my Ennea type 1, perfectionist, solving everything alone.
I come from Source as light, created in God’s image. I am blessed to become manifest and carry God’s light into the world to do my part in the beauty and Love of it all.
Remember the clear light, The pure clear white light. From which everything in the universe comes, To which everything in the universe returns; The original nature of your own mind. The natural state of the universe unmanifest. Let go into the clear light, trust it, merge with it. It is your own true nature, it is home. ~ The Tibetan Book of The Dead

My default purpose came to mind this morning as I sent out a prayer for a good day.
To give and to grow.
Today’s lesson validates this for me as the two ideas join.
“I am the light of the world.”
My mind went to plants. They grow and they give! I could not think of one plant that doesn’t give to others through flowers or fruit.
I am the light!
The light brings growth and the fruit.
I light the world to bring the world’s growth and fruit!
