Review of lessons 6-10

[6] I am upset because I see what is not there.
[7] I see only the past.
[8] My mind is preoccupied with past thoughts.
[9] I see nothing as it is now.
[10] My thoughts do not mean anything.
“The illusions are upsetting because I have given them reality, and thus regard reality as an illusion.” (L6)
Reality is the true eternal life where we know our connection to everything as well as to Source. It is Love and forgiveness that will clear thoughts of the past. I will stand lovingly as a Holy Child of God who offers peace and light to this world.
“Let me understand that I am trying to use time against God.” (L8)
My knowledge and judgements over the past do not serve me in what I want. I want Love and connection so holding onto past illusions is another way I separate myself from Love (and connection). Because I only see the past, this choice has cost me seeing what is true.
“Would I not rather join the thinking of the universe than to obscure all that is really mine with my pitiful and meaningless ‘private’ thoughts?” (L10)

[6] I am upset because I see what is not there.
“Reality brings only perfect peace.”
My mind immediately went to work on how to ‘solve’ my life so I remain peaceful as I experience all the tings in it. It took reading the lesson review summaries before it ‘clicked’ and reminded me that ‘reality’ is something different to what I currently see. Those who experience NDE (near death experience) speak of being in a field of Love. Perhaps this is reality.
[7] I see only the past.
I got upset yesterday. When I was settled enough to reflect on what triggered me, it was about control of a project at home. This has helped me to see that my being controlling is me seeing the past. I control so I am not hurt, disappointed, or angered as I think I was in the past.
[8] My mind is preoccupied with past thoughts.
Yes, this is so. I live in the past and so condemn the world and try to control others. I think this is how I can create peace while living in the past.
“Let me remember that I look on the past to prevent the present from dawning on my mind.”
[9] I see nothing as it is now.
Therefore, I see nothing. If all my experiences are reactions to past events ( or things I once knew) then I am acting, and reacting, in field of nothing.
“I can see only what is now.”
The lesson says it is not a choice of picking post or present but I want to truly see.
So ’seeing’ is not just being present, it must be more … opening to the presence of Love.
[10] My thoughts do not mean anything.
I sense that this lesson eliminates the need for all my prior musing. I’ve just filled a page with my thoughts on how to be present, and to see.
After sitting with my breath for a minute, I asked HS about the value of these thoughts I’ve put on this page.
I heard that it all helps to come to forgiveness. Forgiveness being the release of false thoughts, per WB.II.1.
