My mind is part of God’s. I am very holy.

“By establishing your Source it establishes your identity, and it describes you as you must be in truth.”
This quote has me thinking of identity. In seminary this weekend, presentations were paused so the Deans could speak about worlds we should avoid in ministry that might express how we identify a person. One of the words was slave. We were told it is better to say ‘people who were enslaved’ then to just say slaves.
In one of my discussion groups, someone said something about watching our use of nouns. I was confused by this – nouns are how we name people and things. This has stayed with me to reflect on to better understand.
After a few minutes of reflection, I received some clarity. I thought about how we use adjectives to define nouns, and that these are descriptive words. It seems to me that we are in the habit of turning descriptive words into nouns such as speaking of people as white, black, brown, yellow, or red.
All minds are part of God’s. All people are holy.
I am understanding (also feeling Love flowing) that it is best to first establish in my mind that I am making reference to a person before I move onto the description of how they may appear to me in this world. (I am feeling an inner ‘namaste’.)
Holy child of God, I see you.

I see myself as: aloof, disconnected, afraid, failing, mistaken, fake.
“I could see peace instead of this.”
Woke up not feeling well so I’m still feeling down even after the lovely lesson notes by Hollie. She pointed out that this is the first lesson attesting to our true identity.
Which is what? Holy Child of God!
This I am.
My body may not be where I want it to be today so I’m feeling disappointed and discouraged.
Still … Holy Child sitting here!
I see myself as: willing, open-hearted, spacious, courageous, patient, caring.
Willing came to mind several times as my list formed.
Dear Lord, here I am. I’m willing and able to move as you have me, to be as you want me, to accept and love what you bring me.
(Wonderful how one can change so quickly. 😊)
