“The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding banquet for his son.” ~ Matthew 22
Happy Sunday!
I am talking a deep breathe and filling myself with gratitude as I am writing! Yeah!
I visited Mom this week and we were discussing the holidays. Thanksgiving is going to quiet and small this year with my siblings having other plans. I tried to put the focus on Christmas when we (New Jerseyites) will all be together to keep Mom’s spirits up.
Mom said to me, “I guess the next big event will be my funeral”.
I replied, “yes but you will be having a great time on the other side”.
She didn’t understand so I told her that she is going to see all of her loved ones and that Dad is going to have a wonderful home ready for her. And Donna will be there cooking. She said that she hoped I was right and I said I know I am right but it is her choice.
A few weeks earlier I had told Mom about the movie I watched on Gaia TV called ‘Astral City’ – a must watch! This movie explains the next realm. It is still a place of learning and free will. It is a realm of our own creation so we just need to be aware when we pass not to hold onto our limited nature and habits of suffering. You can choose to remain in your mind brought from Earth and this is purgatory or hell depending on what you choose to make it into. No one is judging or punishing – all your experiences will be creations from your own mind.
I also told Mom about Eben Alexander’s near death experience and how for me this confirms that the afterlife is what we make of it with our minds (or, once we release and identify with our hearts/higher Self to live in the light ethereal realm). When his brain shutdown due to meningitis, his experience was of being in a gray puss existence. This is what his intellectual mind expected – consciousness as a construct of the brain that was bacterially infected into gray puss. When he opened his mind to memories of school age learning about God his journey began moving through the light.
This morning I listened to an October homily by Richard Rohr at cac.org (Center for Advanced Contemplation). The gospel was a Jesus parable about God preparing a wedding banquet for his son and sending invitations out to the neighbors but when they were invited no one came. God instead invited all of the people along the roads, good and bad.
Richard made the point in the homily that 15 times within the gospels that the afterlife (heaven) is described as a banquet or feast. He added that only once in the gospels does Jesus speak about judgement in the afterlife (Matthew 25:35) and that is related to our treatment of the poor.
Richard asked “are we going to go to the banquet?”
For me … OH YES!
My mind also reminds no to get to caught up on the party in the afterlife, Jesus also said to bring heaven here to Earth.
I also know that we create our experience here on earth, it just takes longer to manifest then in the astral realm. I choose to be happy. I choose to be grateful.
I know that being human here on Earth is a gift. Being given this period to experience this wonderful manifestation of God is a blessing so I try to remember to be full of awe and humility for the sacredness of the world around me.
Thank you Gaia.
Thank you Lord.
Please, celebrate me home,
Give me a number,
Please, celebrate me home
Play me one more song,
That I’ll always remember,
And I can recall,
Whenever I find myself too all alone,
I can sing me home.
