T-16-IV Abandoning the Illusion of Love.

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it” (6.1)
Once again, Jesus is telling me that I do not love the people I care about – that I actually hate them. This is a difficult section to accept.
We are being taught that there is love or hate, like there is just love or fear, love or attack. We do not know what love actually is. And, what we call Love, with its focus on our own self-interest, is not it
“Spirit can only love spirit; in loving form it deludes itself.” ~ Hazrat Inayat Khan, Bowl of Saki for July 28.
Is it that we love what we see in form, which easily switches to hate when the person does not live up to the illusion we made of them? I think so. No wonder Jesus works with us to open our eyes to Christ vision.
I am blind. I wish to see as I wish to know love.
