T-5.VI The Ego’s use of Guilt.
3-28-2025
“The mind that was in me is in you, for God creates with perfect fairness.” (19.2)
In my Day 86 reflection, the insight that ego is a collective consciousness shifted something in me. If I did not personally create the ego I experience (wholly by myself in this Tricia lifetime*) then I am not to blame. And I am no longer controlled by guilt.
I feel more spacious like I am now standing back observing two options. My options are to join the group of the ego mind, created and maintained by fear, or to join the group of the Christ mind, created and maintained by Love. I see the two clearly now. I choose Love.
Let me bring this Love down to Earth, to myself, to my companions, to all people, and to Mother Earth and all her beings. Amen. So be it.
* I realize that the Course says that I create my ego. This idea of ego as collective consciousness says to me that it existed before I was born. It is like, when you are born, you come into a religious family and bigger community. Growing up, you accept and defend all the doctrine of your group, supporting the group mind. One day you begin to question the doctrine, and you now see the group’s ideas as outside of you, and you can choose to join it or not.
