“Each instant is a clean, untarnished birth, in which the Son of God emerges from the past into the present… No darkness is remembered, and his immortality and joy are now.”<\/em> (9.4,7)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Most of this section is about how the ego controls us, keeping us in fear, and so reinforcing our belief in being separated from God, and All That Is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n There are so many people suffering. When I think of how I might use this teaching of the Holy Instant to help them, I sense it would not be easy to get others to release the burdens of the past from impacting this moment. I can hear people respond, “I still have to pay my rent’, ‘I still need to get through the divorce\u2019, ‘I still for my abusive mother with dementia! Yes, I know they can choose the peace of this moment and then act from there. I cannot think of the words to shift their understanding to make the choice of peace for themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n HS will know and guide me to that Holy Instant if the experiences I described should ever arrive for me.
