As I read these early notebook notes, I see myself as so similar to Helen. I am not good with people\u2019s names \u2013 like it isn\u2019t important to learn them when meeting someone new. I sense that it is a sign of my reluctance to form an attachment to another person, to limit my relationships to protect myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another similarity described in this cameo is my embarrassment at expressing my love for Jesus. I fear being categorized as a \u2018holy roller Christian. (In the past, I viewed the \u2018holy roller\u2019 type as someone who pressured friends to convert. Now, there is more fear of being associated with colonizing Christianity. In the news we see more and more historical crimes against cultural groups as coming from Christian religious groups.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I hear you, Jesus, and am willing to reflect on these fears to shift them out of myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
