A poem by Tricia Bates Smith, 1-4-2024<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m noticing something about change. \nNew understanding has meant letting go of what I thought was real and true.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
I stumble. \nI hide \u2026 better to be home alone.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Self-confidence is shattered. \nI no longer know what to say and to whom.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
There is a place within me that has been patient for years \nas this self went out into the world to make something of itself.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Head time is over; those eyes did not truly see. \nNew eyes are clearing. The voice of the heart is emerging.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Forced humility comes as a blessing. \nNot knowing is my strength. <\/pre>\n\n\n\n
It is the means to quiet the head, \nfor the gaze to look around and see that there are others here, present.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
What do YOU think? What do YOU need? \nI don\u2019t know, but I am here.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
