10-11-2023, the night following the passing of my mother Pat Bates.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grandmother. Mother. You, and me \u2026 daughter. \nStrong backs. Strong hands, in spite of broken hearts.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Together, across time and place. \nYou, feeling whole once again.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
The wise-ones smile, rocking, their waiting is over \u2026 for now. \nThe road was long and difficult, but you bore it well.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Your faith never faltered, so you found your peace. \nYour pain was never so great that you were unkind to those who served you.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Oh Wise Women! \nMother. Grandmothers. I honor you!<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Now she has taken her place in your presence. \nAnd I am grateful.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
I am the blessed one to follow women such as you. \nLet my back always be strong. \nLet my hands be open to those in need. \nLet my heart succeed in returning to wholeness \u2026 \n\u00a0 For all our mothers and daughters, \n\u00a0 Past, present, and to come.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
Mom, I ask to remain in the flow of your blessings. \nPlease whisper in my ear to guide my way. \nAnd, kick start my heart when it has sunk low, \n\u00a0 So I too can be of service.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
