Yesterday, the lesson had us set our desire and intent to see. Today, we are given a lesson in how to do that \u2013 to see truthfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are so many things within ourselves that we have decided on what they are, how they make us feel, and what impact they have on our lives. To clear our judgements we ask, \u2018How can I see this differently?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the practice periods, we are asked to scan our thoughts and beliefs for those that give us subtle feelings of influence. These, the lesson says, hide anger and attack. These we should ask to see differently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In my practice, the subtle twinge I noticed was on the lesson\u2019s request to do the practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I prefer journaling over practice periods. I don\u2019t want the responsibility to remember or the guilt when I don\u2019t do them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am determined to see this differently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe degree of emotion (anger) you experience does not matter. You will become increasingly aware that a slight twinge of annoyance is nothing but a veil drawn over intense fury.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019ve come to understand, and appreciate, the intelligence of my body. The Course teaches that the body is a communication device. I ignored the messages of tingling for years, with the last two years having the messages come as pain. Dr. R. uses kinesiology, which has brought forward more messages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In my own practices, I move the energy. Dr. R. asked me this week if I ask the pain for its message. I do not. I also do not ask others about their pain. I\u2019m afraid of questioning as I might learn, and be pulled into things that I don\u2019t want.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI am determined to see things differently.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n There are big walls around me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMany seek protection from all hurting influences by building some wall around themselves. But the canopy over the earth is so high that a wall cannot be built high enough, and the only thing one can do is to live in the midst of all inharmonious influences, to strengthen his will power and to bear all things, yet keeping the fineness of character and a nobleness of manner together with an ever-living heart.
