\u201cI live in God \u2026 And only there will I remember Who I really am.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Lately, in the lessons, it has been statements about identity that have gotten my attention. I hope that is due to there being a shift in how I identify myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Earlier today I received my workgroup assignment for seminary. As I looked at the list of classmates I will be working with, my mind formed a conversation to have with one lady who is very quiet. I noticed my judgement, so I stopped the noise in my head to reflect on what I was doing. I saw that I had identified with something in her that I see as a problem in myself so judged that it needed to be fixed. I released thoughts of her, as I acknowledged that I don\u2019t know her role \u2026 \u2018everything belongs\u2019 as Fr. Richard teaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For me, I will take refuge in God. This means I will ask for what is the right direction for me right now and act in that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI choose to be as You created me, and find the Son whom You created as myself\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I release having to fix the world around me so I can be OK. My identity was established long before the life of this body or psyche. With open hands I release more blocks of my own construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Shine, Tricia, shine!<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI live in God. In Him I find my refuge and my strength \u2026 my identity \u2026 everlasting peace.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Why do we ever leave?<\/p>\n\n\n\n This question formed as I thought of the Prodigal Son. Why leave the father who loves you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Free will \u2013 it is a blessing and a curse. (To say good and bad would have been less dramatic so I should have used that. I like the bit of drama just now.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Free will seems to be that God gave us a spark of individuality to have our own talents and purpose to help us feel fulfilled. We all seem to turn away from \u2018refuge and security\u2019 as young adults. We are driven to find our own life, and way of doing things. Some troubles, with struggle, turns us back toward safety and Love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A few minutes ago, Earl was in a sound sleep on my desk, wrapped in my arms. The song title \u201cSomeone to Watch Over Me\u201d came to mind. I thought of all the animal rescue videos where dogs and cats, when brought into a loving home, fall asleep for a couple of days. Maybe we all need those periods of being where we know there is someone there watching over us, keeping us safe, so we can let go to feel the \u2018everlasting peace\u2019 once again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Am I truly meant to always be in the place of God\u2019s safety?<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2018To be in the world but not of the world.\u2019 (This just popped into my mind.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are meant to be here experiencing, feeling, and acting. But our actions can be more productive, toward growth, if our minds remember we are safe in God\u2019s Love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI live in God. In him I find my refuge and my strength.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I am at peace today. I read announcements predicting doom and can question the accuracy. Does this person know better than God?
