\u201cWhat worry can beset the one who gives his future to the loving hands of God?\u201d<\/em> [CE W-194.7:1]<\/p>\n\n\n\n I feel happy to place my future in the hands of God, but my mind still goes to the \u2018what if\u2019s?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n What if I am in some catastrophe? I fear that I will get caught up reacting and not trust God or keep my heart open to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What if a beloved child in my family is harmed? I fear that I will resort to blaming others and not turn to the peace of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I worry. This I am asked to release. I do declare my trust in God so here I can settle and clear my mind, to open to contemplation …<\/p>\n\n\n\n Am I trusting that these things won\u2019t happen? Or can I trust that my mind and heart will keep God present in my life through all things? I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This I do know: God will be present with me, for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Now worrying seems illogical. This is because I see that it will be up to me, in the tough moments of my life, to choose God, who is always present and reaching out to me. I don\u2019t think that I can predict today how I will choose in the future, so it is a futile exercise to even consider these thoughts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What I am also noticing is that control has a role here. Perhaps my worry at the start of this was due to fearing a lack of control to ward of trouble in my life. Knowing that I will have control over how I choose to experience future trouble eases the fears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I am returned to peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNo longer is the world our enemy, for we have chosen that we be its friend.\u201d (para.9)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Trust God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trust Life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAs it becomes \u2026 a habit in your problem solving repertoire.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n As I read the lesson, I judged myself as in need of handing my life\u2019s troubles over to God. As I reflected further, I thought of my kids. This week I have asked God for things for them and labeled my prayers as significant by telling God that they are \u2018mother\u2019s prayers\u2019. (Throughout my life I\u2019ve heard inspirational stories mothers tell of their strong prayers that they believe got their children through troubling times. I\u2019ve had a few experiences of this myself!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Anyway \u2026 back to the lesson, I realized during my reflection that I have come to apply this lesson regularly. These days I turn so much over to God. In my \u2018mother\u2019s prayer\u2019 I try not to be specific but only ask for my kids lives to be better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Except for one specific thing I just requested \u2026 that they come to know God, that they are not alone, that they are Loved, and are Love, eternally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n _\/\\_<\/p>\n\n\n\n I bless this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Into your hands \u2026 my writing, use of my time, my kids, my relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hollie\u2019s notes: There is a guiding force of Love that is here to take this from your hands.
