T-11-V The ‘Dynamics’ of the Ego.

“The belief in ego autonomy is costing you the knowledge of your dependence on God, in which your freedom lies.” (6.7)

My conflict and confusion is from considering the ‘ego’s idle wishes’ and being aligned with “the will of God, which you [I] share’” (5.3)

We think that the autonomy impressed on us by the ego is power. We like it (feels like safety) but we also fear it (how far will I attack another with this power?) Fear is feeling powerless. The false authority and effectiveness of the ego shows in this contradictory state of promising authority and delivering fear.

It is time to look at and question whether ego offers anything that I want.
