ACIM CE Text notes – Day 140

T-10-V The Denial of God.

5-20-2025

“Your Father created you Wholly without sin, wholly without pain, and wholly without suffering of any kind. If you deny Him, you bring sin, pain, and suffering into your own mind, because of the power He gave it. Your mind is capable of creating worlds, but it can also deny what it creates, because it is free.” (9.5)

As I read this section, my mind was on a seminary classmate who defends violent acts to benefit social justice and reform. She has mentioned the Bhagavad Gita for validation, wherein Krishna advises Arjuna to go into battle. I recall from my reading of the Gita, that Krishna goes on to describe cosmic, heavenly realms. This thought brought to mind gospel Jesus saying, ‘give to Ceasar what is Ceasar’s; give to God what is God’s’ (Matthew 22:21, Mark 12:17)

I am reminded of the Course’s teaching of levels (first brought to my awareness with Miracle Principle 28). We are free to do in this world as we wish to experience, but this is not of true value to our true Selves. Yes, God will use all experiences for our growth so all will be well. It will be the ‘final judgement’, our soul evaluations of ourselves, that we may see that we had a different choice. We may see that there may have been a kinder path to return us to the Kingdom faster.

It is all useful. It is all forgivable—to be seen in the light of understanding.
