T-6.I The Message of the Crucifixion, paragraphs 13-25.

“Teach only love, for that is what you are.” (20.2)
In my ACIM study group, we talked about the Text section on karma and if we believed in it. I did not participate, uncertain of my feelings, as part of my spiritual seeking brought me understand of karma. It is part of other traditions that I honor, as well as having heard stories with physical evidence of karma.
I have been thinking over my beliefs in comparison to what Jesus teaches us in T-5.VII ‘The Question of Karma’. (Where he reminds us that our eternal Selves cannot be changed by past experiences.) What I recognized is that my belief, and understanding, is from a different level to that which Jesus is pointing me to. I believe in karma in this physical world. Jesus teaches of the Kingdom, the real eternal world of Atonement.
I offer this as a way to see what Jesus offers us about the crucifixion. We see it from the level of this world and our being identified with a body. Jesus is using it as a teaching tool to consider the violent act (worldly level) as not able to alter Jesus’ true Self (Kingdom of God level). Jesus’ knowing of his true Self allowed for growth and transformation and not death.
“Your resurrection is your reawakening. I am the model for rebirth, but rebirth itself is merely the dawning on your mind of what is already in it. God placed it there Himself, and so it is true forever. I believed in it, and therefore made it forever true for me. Help me to teach it to our brothers in the name of the Kingdom of God.” (13.1-5)
