ACIM CE Text notes – Day 39

T-2.VII The Miracle as the Means of Healing.

2-8-2025

I gained a lot of understanding of healing from this section. We reject the statement ‘it is all in your mind’ because it is usually a rejection of our feelings (about the body) and we fear being seen as ‘crazy’ in our minds.

In the CircleofA.org Day 39 commentary, Robert explains that the ‘miracle’ that Jesus is referring to is the agent that caused the result of healing. We are told that Atonement offered to the mind of the receiver is the way to offer healing – here the Atonement acts as it is defined.

Atonement is the idea that your past errors never really occurred and therefore you are released from them and their painful effects.” (CircleofA.org Day 39 commentary.)

As an example of this, a gospel healing by Jesus (Mark 2) shows Jesus first declaring forgiveness. He treats the mind before telling the body to get up.

It is like we are being given another definition of ‘miracle’ not provided in Chapter 1. We were taught that miracles are expressions of love. For me to put Atonement into action means for me to see the receiver in their original Child of God state.

Christ’s vision heals as we see in the gospel stories. We are also taught how to utilize this in the Workbook, Lesson 121. This is a powerful expression of Love.

To be a miracle worker, am I meant to express this level of Love/Atonement always to everyone?

I sense ‘yes!’
