ACIM Lesson 192 notes.

I have a function God would have me fill.

“Be merciful today. The Son of God deserves your mercy … His Father’s Love for him belongs to you. Your function here on earth is only to forgive him that you may accept him back as your identity. He is as God created him.” (para.10)

For a few weeks now I have been studying the ‘Manual for Teachers’. I think that teaching is in my future.

Last night I read an article on circleofa.org by Robert Perry which outlined a holy moment of Salvation, ‘The Core Unit of Salvation’. This described the transformative interaction of two people coming to see themselves as one through their shared interests. I acknowledge that this summary of the article is shallow and that I desire to go deeper as I sense it will help me better understand my function here.

Feeling blessed and curious. I am ready to receive.

“Forgiveness represents your function here.”

Of course it is forgiveness! It is the way to bring the flow of Love into a world that has been turned away from Love and compassion for many generations. There is much to fix and change, but the old ways of forcing what one group thinks is right no longer works.

Today Fr. Richard wrote with regards to the ‘Exclusion of Belonging’, “I must see God in the other, I must access God in myself, and I must experience God in a new way that is larger than an ‘Enforcer’. ~ CAC Daily Meditation 7-11-2023

Forgiveness calls Love into me, to flow to another, to resolve how God deems most beneficial to All.

“Forever pure as He, of love created and in love preserved, extending love, creating in its name, forever one with God and with your Self.”

My function is forgiveness. The lesson says that forgiveness is of Heaven and has no form at all. We are the ones who bring this down into the Earth, the place of form. Watching Wimbledon this week, I found myself very judge mental of a player. There was a match where they were vocal, cursing, complaining. The opponent was upset, and their actions showed this. I wanted the first player to be punished for creating the troubled environment and felt that the second player was justified for their actions. The next day I saw interviews with the two players. My assessment of the first player changed to seeing that he was just different from my norm and misunderstood.

This is a time of accepting and opening our hearts to All, even those who are different.

I feel grateful now for this player. When I was able to watch him play again, I saw the face of innocence in God’s son as the Course invites us to do.

Namaste.
